CO - FOUNDER

 Dawn Boyter is an experienced geologist and environmental enthusiast who has spent the last 25 years working within the oil and gas (O&G) industry in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas. She has been assessing and addressing the challenges of orphaned and abandoned wells for well over a decade. One of her passions is ecological stewardship which is exhibited by the remediation of the surface of plugged O&G lease locations with the incorporation of native grass and pollinator seed mixes that help connect wildlife corridors and migratory routes for beneficial insects and birds. The melding of her environmental passions with her O&G expertise helps explain the early success of her latest ventures, BB&M Materials, LLC. and New Dawn EcoServices, LLC.

 David Briggs has proudly spent the majority of his academic and working life in the oil and gas industry, having first been introduced to the industry by working at his family-owned oil company as a teenager. With a degree in both petroleum technology and geology, David has spent years working in geologic prospecting, downhole well configuration, site management, environmental compliance, and remediation project management. His 50 years of experience as a leader and collaborator with major industry partners has made him a highly valued partner at BB&M Materials. David is a well-known independent entrepreneur who holds several personal and collaborative patents. He has an uncanny ability to innovate in ways others are unable to envision or put into practice. This skill set has been used to solve challenging environmental problems in the auto manufacturing, mining and oil and gas industries. David’s commitment to the health of our planet and its vulnerable ecosystems has been recognized by the presentation of numerous prestigious personal and international environmental awards.

 Mark is a finance and sustainability professional with over 30 years of experience,  specializing in advancing the low-carbon transition within the upstream oil and gas sector. As the Founder of Offset Energy Partners (OEP), Co-Founder of BB&M Materials, and Co-Founder of Sentinel Detection Systems (SDS), Mark works with globally recognized teams dedicated to leveraging innovation, nature-based solutions, and carbon markets to promote decarbonization initiatives within the U.S. and abroad. Marks extensive experience in corporate administration, legal matters, and financial operations lays the foundation for his several advisory roles across sectors including oil & gas, hemp, biochar, carbon markets and eco-services. 

LA TECH COLLABORATING PARTNER

 Dr. Matthews has over 20 years of experience in the rehabilitation, installation, and inspection of infrastructure systems. He is the Director of the Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) and Eminent Scholar Chair in Construction at Louisiana Tech University. He previously served as Pipe Renewal Service Line Manager at Pure Technologies, Water Infrastructure Lead at Battelle Memorial Institute, and Research Associate at the TTC at Louisiana Tech. He has given more than 200 conference and workshop presentations and authored more than 300 technical publications. He is active in NASTT and ASCE, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the ISTT. 

LA TECH COLLABORATING PARTNER

 Dr.  Shaik is a distinguished researcher with more than 10 years of experience in the field of civil and structural engineering, specializing in sustainable construction materials. His primary research with more than 40 research publications focuses on zero-cement construction, alkali-activated materials and geopolymers, with wide-ranging applications in radiation shielding, ultra-fast setting materials, refractory systems, sewer lining, and defense infrastructure. Dr. Shaik has made significant contributions to the development of sustainable construction solutions that address key challenges in durability, performance, environmental life cycle assessment and carbon dioxide sequestration.
